Reasons why I chose Radiologic Technology
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by airplanes and the mechanics of flight. My dream was to pursue Aeronautics and become a pilot. However, due to financial constraints, I had to set that dream aside for the time being. Despite this challenge, I never gave up on my goal. I learned that to qualify for a pilot scholarship, I first need to complete a four-year degree. This realization led me to choose Radiologic Technology as my stepping stone toward my ultimate dream.
At first, I wasn’t entirely sure about this field, but as I explored it more, I realized its importance in the medical industry. Radiologic technologists play a crucial role in diagnosing diseases and assisting doctors in making accurate medical decisions. The idea of contributing to patient care through medical imaging intrigued me, and I saw it as an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working toward my long-term goal.
Another reason I chose this field is my fear of blood. I have always wanted to be in the medical field, but I knew I couldn’t handle direct exposure to blood, wounds, or surgeries. Unlike doctors and nurses who deal with emergency procedures, radiologic technologists work behind the scenes, focusing on imaging and diagnostics. This aspect made me feel more comfortable while still being part of the healthcare system.
Though Aeronautics remains my ultimate dream, I have come to appreciate the journey I am on. Radiologic Technology offers career stability, continuous learning, and a chance to help others. By completing this four-year course, I am not only securing a profession but also preparing myself for the next step toward my dream of becoming a pilot. I believe everything happens for a reason, and I am determined to make the most of this opportunity.
